Location Details:

My experience as an enviro veteran (from 1990's Redwood Summer through today) is that good-hearted, well-intentioned, self-described environmentalists are dummies when it comes to economics. When it comes to pricing nature, most of us balk at using the market to determine say, redwood tree value. But failure to do that, paired with failing to resolutely treat nature values as community property, results in the so-called bad boys bilking the rest of us.

You're invited to either of two close reading critiques of Dr. Seuss' The Lorax which will illuminate how to argue deep green policy using straight-up Economics Department reasoning and lingo.

The afternoon session comes with a vegetarian repast, and will transpire backyard for the added peace of mind of those concerned for plague and other transmissible illnesses.

You must RSVP for this live session by Friday 10 am.

A post pleasant warmth (and light) of the day edition of this tutorial will take place at 7 pm Friday evening via ZOOM. No RSVP necessary for the evening session (and there'll be no meal proved either, obviously).
