Union Democracy, Bullying & The Removal Of SF TWU 250a President Roger Marenco
Roger Marenco, who was president of TWU 250a was removed last week as president. He reports that it was illegal and a coup that flagrantly violated the union bylaws. He also tells WorkWeek that he and his family have been physically threatened by officers who want him out of his union position.
The issue of union democracy, bullying in the workplace and the unions is a central
question in the removal of Transport Workers Union Local 250a president Roger Marenco.
He was removed in the first week of December 2022 before an election.
In an interview with WorkWeek he discusses the history of harassment against him and reports on the physical and death threats made against him and his family. He also says that other members have been bullied into silence by these illegal tactics that have been aimed particularly at women and Black members.
