Rehabilitation for Prisoners Only

by Leticia Martinez
Trying to find low-income drug programs in Northern California is nearly impossible unless you go to prison first.
Want to get into a drug program? Better go to prison first! Drug addicts in Northern California are finding it nearly impossible to get into a Drug Rehabilitation Center. Drug programs can cost anywhere between 6k to 60k a month. Unless you go to prison first. Going to prison gets you a "Go to rehab free card". Taxpayers pay for prisoners to be rehabilitated when they are released from Prison. They are given 1 year of funding and free housing. Those who are homeless on the streets trying to get into a drug program find it nearly impossible. They can't afford the cost so what should they do? Commit a crime, go to prison, and then get the desperate help they need? The system is bucked!
We are 100% volunteer and depend on your participation to sustain our efforts!
