KPFA Supporters Of "New Day" Who Control LSB Refuse To Hold Committee Meeting
The present majority of the KPFA Local Station Board supported the corporate "New Day" bylaw proposals. They argued that the Local Station Boards should be advisory and should not approve the budget and evaluate the manager. Now they are their supporters are running for the LSB with the position that they really don't want to do what is required under the bylaws. This is duplicitous and shows a lack of integrity and honesty. If you don't want to follow the bylaws and do your job you should not be running for the KPFA Local Station Board.
KPFA Supporters Of "New Day" Who Control Local Station Board Refuse To Hold Committee Meeting Like Other Pacifica Stations
https://kpftx.org/archive.php
The supporter of “New Day” at KPFA who control the majority have refused to have a finance and other sub committees that other stations are doing. They and their supporters are again running for the board but their postion during the election is that the LSB’s should be advisory only and not be in charge of approving the budtet or evaluaing the maagers. They have stalled on evaluating the present manager Quincy McCoy for over 5 years although they are requiired under the bylaws to do this job. Their group also supportred redbaiting in the bylaw election publicly stating that the Green Party and Workers World had taken over Pacifica. This was and is a flat out line and shows that they really behave as anti-communists which Pacifica was founded to fight on the air.
They also voted to only hold KPFA Local Station Board meetings every other month because they wanted time to work on the committees yet they did the opposite. There is no finance committee, inclusion committee at KPFA and they refused to carry out evaluations of the manager although that is required under the bylaws. They want less democracy and transparency for the membership and supporters of KPFA and Pacifica.
Those who are running with them do not deserve support since they will carry on this systemic attacks on the bylaws of KPFA and Pacifica.
