ON HUMAN RIGHTS DAY, DECEMBER 10, 2020 IN SF, HOW DO WE DOING ON THE RIGHT TO HOUSING & FOOD?
Please join the SF Gray Panthers for our annual public reading of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR: https://www.un.org/en/universal-declaration-human-rights/); with a special focus on the right to housing and the right to food. (NOTE: Go to the bottom of this entry for full Zoom information)

We will meet via Zoom to read and hear the UDHR; and as we read, participants will be encouraged to post relevant information and comments in the chat. We will follow the reading by hearing from 2 speakers who will describe how we are doing in regard to fulfilling the right to housing and food right here in San Francisco and what we can do to help. Finally, we will broaden the discussion to note what was posted in the chat and discuss how we are doing in SF in regard to fulfilling any or all of the other human rights enumerated in the UDHR; and what we can do to fulfill them in the future.

Our speakers on two rights listed in UDHR Article 25* will be:
1) On HOUSING: Sara Shortt Director of Public Policy & Community Organizing, Community Housing Partnership) and
2) On FOOD: Mary Risley of Food Runners; https://www.foodrunners.org/about/).

*UDHR Article 25:
Everyone has the right to a standard of living adequate for the health and well-being of himself and of his family, including food, clothing, housing and medical care and necessary social services, and the right to security in the event of unemployment, sickness, disability, widowhood, old age or other lack of livelihood in circumstances beyond his control.
