An exploration of California's history of immigration and exclusion, the current reality for immigrants in our community, and ideas for tangible action that we can take on behalf of vulnerable immigrants in Marin.
This program welcomes everyone of all faiths and backgrounds. You shall not oppress a stranger, For you know the heart of a stranger. Exodus 23: 9 Join us for an afternoon of learning, listening, and sharing our collective immigration stories. Come hear about what is happening in Marin County right now, and walk away with ways in which you can make a difference in your community today. You will have the opportunity to share your family's immigration story, and hear from others, in a safe, intimate setting. Please consider bringing a small artifact (photo, recipe, etc.) that represents your family's point of origin. ABOUT THE PROGRAM: Facing Immigrants, Facing Ourselves is a collaborative project in partnership with HAMAQOM |The Place, Congregation Kol Shofar, Congregation Rodef Sholom's Immigrant Rights Team, the Canal Alliance, Jewish Community Relations Council, Marin Interfaith Council, the Multicultural Center of Marin, the Marin Asian Association, and the Osher Marin JCC.
