As Americans now watch a whistleblower possibly bring down Trump, we see the essential role of whisleblowers in a democracy. We also heard first hand that Trump, a would be tyrant, would kill a whistleblower.

Julian Assange and Chelsea Manning have done us a great service by exposing crimes the US commits throughout the world. Yet the US and other governments are persecuting these heroes. They are languishing in prison under inhuman conditions and have yet to be convicted of any crimes in a legitimate legal process.

Supporters demonstrated today on Market Street and handed out a flyer (see photo) as part of the ongoing worldwide effort in their favor.
