From RUSSIA- On his show called Going Underground Afshin Rattansi interviewed Tim Jones from Extinction Rebellion. Tim is a secondary teacher who says the reason people are striking for the environment is to get the politicians to take action on what the UK government has declared an environment and climate change emergency. He points out that the educational system is not informing students about the science of climate change.

From SPAIN- Alison Hughes and Justin Coe present a segment of what Swedish environmental activist Greta Thunberg said at the UN on Monday. Since the drone and missile attack against Saudi oil facilities claimed by the Houthi rebels in Yemen, the Saudi led coalition has carried out 28 bombing raids on Houthi strongholds, killing dozens of civilians. The Houthis had declared a ceasefire last week which the UN had praised. Patrick Cockburn wrote in the Independent that drones and missiles have changed the nature of warfare globally, by affording countries with fewer resources to successfully attack wealthier enemies. On Sunday at least 40 Afghan civilians attending a wedding party were killed during a raid by US trained and led Afghan special forces- this happened only days after a US drone massacre of more than 32 Afghan farmworkers harvesting pine nuts.

From CUBA- A new study warns that the global average temperature could rise by as much as 12 degrees Fahrenheit or 7 degrees celsius by the end of the century. The US Treasury Dept imposed sanctions on 4 maritime firms transporting Venezuelan oil and fuel to Cuba where there is a fuel shortage. The Venezuelan delegation at the UN General Assembly denounced the US blockade and presented evidence on the Colombian governments ties with paramilitary and criminal groups. Brazilian deputies presented a report on human rights in their country to the UN. Secretary General Guterres gave his State of The World address at the UN, calling for a multipolar world.

"We have currently a built-in allergy to unpleasant or disturbing information. Our mass media reflect this. But unless we get up off our fat surpluses and recognize that television in the main is being used to distract, delude, amuse and insulate us, then television and those who finance it, those who look at it and those who work at it, may see a totally different picture too late."
--Edward R Murrow
