Released FBI files on political figures and popular culture in America

by Lynda Carson (tenantsrule [at] yahoo.com)
On this holiday Labor Day weekend, it seems appropriate to take a peek at who the FBI has been keeping files on as the huge battle rages against Uber, Lyft, and Door Dash, and their multi-million dollar campaigns to keep people from organizing as employees who want to be represented by unions in an effort to stop the maximum exploitation happening in the so-called gig economy!

On this holiday Labor Day weekend, it seems appropriate to take a peek at who the FBI has been keeping files on as the huge battle rages against Uber, Lyft, and Door Dash, and their multi-million dollar campaigns to keep people from organizing as employees who want to be represented by unions in an effort to stop the maximum exploitation happening in the so-called gig economy.

It appears that through the years the FBI has been keeping track of many activists, political figures, and popular culture, and have been keeping files on such entities as Lena Horne, Muhammad Ali, John Lennon, Leonard Bernstein, Abbie Hoffman, Marvin Gaye, Charlie Chaplin, and many other entities. That’s right. The American government has been spying on the American public for many years, especially many left leaning figures that may be considered to be anti-fascist, anti-corporate, and anti-military.

As recent as August 7, 2019, the FBI released some files on civil rights activist, American singer, dancer and actress Lena Horne, who allegedly had ties to the Communist Party and leftist leaning organizations before she passed away on May 9, 2010. The FBI claimed that Lena Horne was sympathetic to the Communist cause.

It was on November 22, 2016, that the FBI released some files on famed boxer and noted public figure Muhammad Ali that consists of materials from the FBI files pertaining to Ali’s relationship with the Nation of Islam in 1966.

The FBI released some files on famed American journalist Mike Wallace on April 4, 2013, regarding his 1970 trip to Cuba.

On December 1, 2012, the FBI released some files on Russell Tyrone Jones aka “Ol Dirty Bastard” who was a member of the hip-hop group known as the Wu-tang Clan. No charges were filed based on the FBI investigations.

Then on March 3, 2012, the FBI released some files on comic actor and movie director Charlie Chaplin consisting of files regarding Chaplin’s alleged ties to communist organizations. Years ago, Charlie Chaplin filmed a few scenes at 1502 Alice Street, where I resided there for 8 years in Oakland, CA.

It was on April 20, 2011, that the FBI released some files on the famed pop band “The Monkees” who used to have a weekly TV show. The FBI investigation was about some alleged anti-Vietnam war activities by “The Monkees”.

On June 3, 2011, the FBI released some files on Abbie Hoffman, who was a well known political and social activist in the 1960s being investigated by the FBI under the antiriot laws, and he was considered as a domestic security threat for his political antics against the establishment, and the American war in Vietnam.

It was on June 7, 2011, that the FBI released some files about an investigation into a famed popular 1960’s song called “Louie Louie” that allegedly had obscene lyrics. The investigation did not discover any evidence of obscenity.

It happened on November 8, 2011, that the FBI released some files on famed actor and director Orson Welles who was investigated by the FBI for his alleged ties to the communist party in Hollywood.

And as recently as August 28, 2019, the FBI released a file on “The Weinstein Company” which allegedly claims that the film “The Hateful Eight” was illegally distributed.

Other FBI files included famous public figures such as Jimi Hendrix, and Malcolm X, actor Steve McQueen, singer and songwriter Marvin Gaye, famed musician John Lennon, in addition to many others.

In recent years, many campaign contributors of fascist KKK Imperial Wizard, David Duke, were exposed, resulting in the closures of a restaurant and night club. Additionally, I also exposed Vaughn Miller, a wealthy campaign contributor of David Duke, with close ties to Prince Charles, of England.

A few months ago, an attorney hired by real estate multi-millionaire Vaughn Miller offered me $2,000 to remove my story about Vaughn Miller’s campaign contribution to fascist KKK David Duke from the Indy Bay News Wire, which I declined to accept.

Meanwhile during this holiday Labor Day weekend under the Trump regime, the FBI continues to keep files on many other people that have struggled for civil rights, and freedom in America.

Correction: $2,500 offer to remove Vaughn Miller/David Duke story

It was $2,500, not $2,000 that I was offered by someone allegedly named Henry Gladstone who claimed to be an attorney for Vaughn Miller who wanted me to remove an article from the Indy Bay News Wire that I wrote regarding Vaughn Miller contributing money to David Duke's campaign.

I declined to accept the $2,500 to remove the story from Indy Bay News Wire.

According to an email from Henry Gladstone, if I had accepted the $2,500 offer from his client, it would have been sent as a donation from Vaughn Miller's Prestonwood Polo Foundation.

(A check be sent to you as a donation from Prestonwood Polo Foundation, a legitimate 501 (c) (3) tax exempt charitable organization.)

The address listed for the Prestonwood Polo Foundation in the website, matches the same address from the same the Vaughn Miller who contributed money to David Duke's political campaign.

It seemed pretty shady to me that Vaughn Miller was going to use funds from his Prestonwoods Polo Foundation to bribe me, to remove a story about his campaign contribution to the notorious David Duke, and I am glad that I had no part of his scheme.

Yes please ask her. My client would be willing to make a $2500 contribution to her or the charity of her choosing.

As you know, the story is 2 years old, served its purpose, the subject disavowed Duke/KKK. And from an ethical point of view, the charities listed in the story are guilty by association. As you know, stories like this live on the internet forever.

Thank you

H. Gladstone
