CODEPINK Monthly Golden Gate Bridge WALK for PEACE
Date Sunday August 18
Time 11:45 AM - 1:45 PM
Event Type Protest
Organizer/AuthorMartha Hubert
Location Details
11:45 am: Gather at the SF end of the eastern walkway of the Golden Gate Bridge.
Noon: Walk on the easter walkway from the SF side to the middle of the bridge. There we will hold a "burma shave" style presence
with each of us holding a sign with adequate space between us so that motorists can easily read all of our signs. Some signs provided, or bring your own. We'll return to the SF side of the bridge for a rally with Photo ops and flyer distribution.

Parking is available, though often very crowded. It's best to use public transit. See http://tripplanner.transit.511 for transit options. The SF Muni Bus 28 stops at the bridge, and from Marin use Golden Gate Trasit Buses 10, 70 or 80
YES to GUN CONTROL, NO to Global ARMS SALES!
Join us on the Golden Gate
The U.S. is the most violent nation on the planet today, occupying and/or regularly dropping bombs on nations in Asia and Africa, and forcing it’s toxic military bases on foreign lands against the will of the people. It is also the largest weapons dealer in the world, profiting from the sale of arms at the expense of global stability and peace.

At home, we have the worst incidence of random mass shootings, and police violence in the world. It seems a no brainer to conclude that violence is not the answer. As mass shootings continue to occur more and more frequently, we say ENOUGH!

NO GUNS, NO WAR, NO VIOLENCE!

peace is the way!” A.J. Muste
