Urbana-Campaign no longer has an indymedia site
It needs to be widely known that Champaign-Urbana is no longer an indymedia site. It is a real estate development for insiders, who squandered money that was donated with the intention of supporting indymedia. They were doing a great job in 2005, but greed and infiltration eventually finished them off.
All you need to do is look at the screen shot, you'll see this is NOT Indymedia - so take it OFF the lists of indymedia sites that you post on your genuine Indymedia site. yes, sadly there are not many left.
Whoever hacked this thing together didn't even think to make the URL without the www work. if you just enter ucimc.org you get an error page.
It's over, greed claims another victory over justice.

IMC Network
There is no computer lab at all today, but that still, is only the tip of the iceberg.
A small group of insiders, not at all friendly to the mission statement of IndyMedia have enjoyed a free lunch in it's name, and picked it's bones until it was gone.

"The Public i is the only news-focused, collectively-run, non-profit newspaper in Urbana-Champaign. The paper is a project of the Urbana-Champaign Independent Media Center (U-C IMC) and is organized and edited entirely by volunteer citizen-journalists. Our articles are written as much as possible by community members, who are telling the stories that affect their lives."

I love it, and have distributed the printed version joyfully, but they have never been treated fairly by the corrupt regime that has completed a hostile takeover of what was meant to be an Independent Media Center. I currently have excess capacity, and it needs to be used for political change. They know how to reach me. Or ask Mark of the "Designing Society" project.
Note the lack of a link to this from the page of lies that fronts for a STOLEN IndyMedia.
