MERCURY CAFÉ’S MONTHLY COMMUNITY NIGHT
Who:
• Steve Ongerth, Industrial Workers of the World, Bay Area Branch
• Jason Prado, Tech Workers Coalition
• Evan McLaughlin, Labor Organizer, San Francisco Democratic Socialists
• Evelyn Engel, San Francisco Taxi Drivers Alliance
What: Wake up all ye fellow workers! This month it’s all about organized labor, so come and have a pint of beer, a bowl of beans, and get your very own official I.W.W. Red Card—they look just as cool as they did back in day, and they’re guaranteed to keep those pesky leeches away! (Bosses, that is.)
And there will be Music! The Hayes Valley Jazz Trio will perform.
When: Friday, April 26, 6:00 to 9:00 p.m.
Where: Mercury Café, 201 Octavia, at Page Street
Why: Because There can be no peace so long as hunger and want are found among millions of the working people and the few, who make up the employing class, have all the good things of life. Which is why we will be serving rice and beans (for $5, merely).
Donations to benefit the San Francisco Bay Area branch of the
Industrial Workers of the World
The IWW is a member-run union for all workers, a union dedicated to organizing on the job, in our industries and in our communities.
