S.F. Women's March, 1/19/19
by Third Time Marcher
Sunday Jan 20th, 2019 12:43 AM
For the third year in a row, San Francisco had a very large women’s march on 1/19/19, a weekend when we celebrate 46 years since Roe v Wade legalized abortion in the US, with perhaps 100,000 people, wide enough to take up all lanes on Market Street, and long enough to go beyond 1 hour to pass a given point. It was a warm, sunny 65 degree day, a welcome change from the constant rain earlier in the week.
The militancy of the first one in 2017, when we marched in the rain as night arrived, after the anti-abortion march had done their noontime anti-women hate march just before us, was sorely lacking in this one, although the horror of Nazi Trump’s government shutdown’s impact on the 800,000 unpaid federal workers and on the poor who need all safety net programs should have made everyone angry. The marchers were overwhelmingly well fed and not workingclass.

We did have some contingents which sensed the urgency of the day, such as the National Nurses Union, which promoted Medicare for All, HR676, which not all Democrats in Congress support, notably San Francisco’s Rep. Pelosi does not support HR676. There were also some radical groups which had lots of urgency in their chants.

We are now witnessing a fully blown anti-Russian hysteria sponsored by the Democratic Party as are these Women’s Marches, with lots of signs equating Trump with Russians, including one ridiculous sign equating Trump with the hammer and sickle sign that was on the old Soviet Union’s flag. The CIA put an end to the Soviet Union in 1991 so that it is now a capitalist country, but that apparently does not stop Democrats from equating billionaire capitalist Trump with communism. In other words, the Democrats, like the Republicans, miss the old scapegoating routine of blaming communist Russians for the problems of capitalism so as to promote the biggest profiteering racket of all, the US war machine, with the greatest profits being in oil and munitions.

The latest crop of Democratic Party presidential candidates are equally anti-Russian, including Joe Biden, Bernie Sanders and Elizabeth Warren. The stances on Russia on the part of these anti-Russian candidates are more fully described at:

“Here’s How Democratic Presidential Contenders Should Not Talk About Russia” by David Fogelsong, 1/16/19

One correction to the above article is that the events of 9/11/01 were an Inside Job.

The entire US Senate, including Bernie Sanders and Elisabeth Warren, voted for the Nicaraguan Investment Conditionality Act of 2017, HR1918 (NICA) in November and December 2018, to help the CIA gangsters promote their effort to overthrow the democratically elected government of Nicaragua, a government that is despised by all anti-communists although it is not a communist government. Well, author, thank you for your description of the women's march but I'm afraid in your effort to speak well of Russia you end up defending Trump. There is no longer a question that he colluded with Russian interests at the very least to help his Moscow Tower be built.

Mix of forces from the FBI to so-called "men’s rights advocates" are trying to prevent a multi-racial, grassroots feminist movement from consolidating and succeeding. Caution is needed. Watch out for right wing trolls, who also tried to spread rumors that Pussy Hats are racist because they only represent white women. Photos elsewhere on indybay show women of many shades donning pussy hats at the SF Women's Rally this year.

Nazi billionaire Trump obviously ran for office to tap the national treasury, which he did with his tax bill for the rich, and now for his wall, to make himself and his cronies richer. That is the only reason a billionaire has to run for office. His financial background is construction projects, around the world. A construction project is not collusion. Russia is the traditional scapegoat and non-existent collusion with Russia is the usual smokescreen in this country to divert our attention from the evil deeds of the capitalist class. This staunch feminist can remember the horror of the anti-Russian and anti-Communist witchhunts of the 1950s and 1960s, all for the purpose of destroying the labor movements of the 1930s and 1940s that made the relative prosperity of the 1950s and 1960s possible, and in so doing, destroying all socialist organizations. In fact, it went on from 1917, the year of the Bolshevik Revolution to 1991, when the CIA destroyed the Soviet Union. Lots of American companies have investments in Russia, especially since 1991 yet they are not accused of collusion. After all, Russia is just another capitalist country, yet some Democrats actually make signs of the hammer and sickle, a communist symbol, being the same as capitalist Nazi Trump! You cannot call yourself a socialist if you think building a hotel or office building in Russia is collusion. The question must be asked, collusion with whom to do what and where is the evidence that anything illegal was done? Nobody explains that. The election fraud the Republicans committed in the 2016 election was the same as they did in 2004 and 2000: They tossed the black vote in the contested states.

Here is some collusion for you to think about:
We remember Democrat Clinton influencing the Russian election of Boris Yeltsin in 1996 to continue the impoverishment of the Russian people, whose Soviet Union was destroyed by the US in 1991 (see and Rescuing Boris, 7/15/1996 at,33009,984833-2,00.html;
We remember Bill Clinton took $500,000 from a Russian bank in 2010 to give a speech in Moscow. See
