Folks will present suggestions for safe and diplomatic vehicular residency in Santa Cruz, both from the vehicular and the housed position.

The major focus of this press conference is securing and guaranteeing the rights and safety of those whose shelter is their vehicles as well as understanding the concerns of "brick and mortar" housed folks nearby.

Thank you. This is a much overdue conversation. There are more vehicle dwellers locally than people realize. Since being forced to live in a van because of fraud by a management company, the City of Santa Cruz, the County of Santa Cruz, the Office of the District Attorney and the Santa Cruz Police Department (SCPD). I have learned firsthand about the ongoing fight all unhoused people endure at the hands of a minority of haters who think they are above the laws committing vigilante crimes against unhoused folks. I have been documenting my story and that of others to send to national/international media, U.S. Senators, federal agencies (like the USDOJ) and government watchdog agencies including/but not limited The National Law Center on Homelessness and Poverty. It is important that the cruelty heaped upon the most vulnerable in our city and county is outed nationally.

I too have been fighting a false ticket by Police Ranger #360. He not only issued a false ticket, he changed the ordinance applied three timed used his reply to my review to publish a personal attack full of false information slandering/now libeling to mischaracterize us. He attempted through color of law and misuse of his authority to make false stories of slander about us into facts by his police position. This is a serious matter and a criminal act. I know my brother and I are not his only victims. I am sure he has at least a 1000 others.
