From JAPAN- Several reports from the UN Climate Change Conference, COP 24- there was an event showcasing municipalities taking actions beyond that of their central governments, protests against the US representation at the conference, and the UN Secretary General urged progress in implementing the 2015 Paris agreement. There has also been a UN backed conference on migration held in Morocco and attended by 164 countries to finalize a global compact on the rights of migrants- the US rejects the accord.

From CUBA- In Britain 15 activists who blocked a plane deporting migrants from Africa have been convicted of terrorism and could face life sentences. Russia has rejected the US reaction to military cooperation with Venezuela. Palestinians continue to be injured with live ammunition by Israeli forces while protesting the naval blockade near the Gaza Strip. The Intercept reports that an executive from Shell Oil says that his company helped draft a portion of the 2015 Paris Climate Agreement. In Washington DC 1000 young activists demanded that lawmakers support a Green New Deal committee.

From SPAIN- Alison Hughes reports on the independence movement in the Catalan region of Spain. She then describes the 4th weekend of demonstrations by the so-called yellow vests across France. 89,000 police and security agents were deployed across the country, arresting more than 1700 of the protestors.

From RUSSIA- George Galloway interviewed professor Russell Foster of Kings College London. They discussed the political situation in France, what will become of President Macron, and why the far-right and fascists are gaining ground across the Western world.
