This week's show features stories from NHK World Radio Japan, Radio Havana Cuba, and Spanish National Radio.

From JAPAN- North Korea media describes agreements reached at the summit with the US as a phased denuclearization of the Korean peninsula and a halt to the US/South Korean military exercises. Then an Insight on the summit by the former head of a Japanese security agency. A further report from North Korean media says sanctions will be lifted. China remarked that UN sanctions against N Korea should be eased or lifted, and that it wants to help create a peace treaty. The Iranian president Rouhani has agreed to maintain the 2015 nuclear agreement despite the US withdrawal. The two Koreas are holding high-level military talks to discuss ways to ease tension on the peninsula.

From CUBA- This Sunday there is a critical presidential election in Colombia between Right-wing candidate Ivan Duque and leftist Gustavo Petro. In Brazil protestors gathered outside the prison cell of Lula da Silva after his presidential candidacy was officially announced. The Pope sent a special envoy with a handwritten letter to Lula but was barred from delivering it by officials. The Spanish government has agreed to allow a boat carrying 600 refugees to dock in Valencia after Italy's new anti-immigrant government turned the boat away.

From SPAIN- Alison Hughes begins with reports from the G7 summit in Canada where the leaders could not agree on a group communique. The new unilateral US tariffs on aluminum and steel infuriated the other nations who responded with criticism of Trump and some tariffs on US goods. In addition the US and the EU are in conflict over the Paris climate agreement, the Iran nuclear agreement, and mandatory spending on military hardware for NATO. Several government entities in Spain have taken actions in protest of the Israeli attacks on Gaza and continued illegal settlement building. In Yemen, the US backed Saudi coalition began a deadly assault on the port city of Hudaida.
