The $2.5 billion traffickers of nuclear doom

The Regents of the University of California are involved in latest $2.5 billion nuclear weapons contract

Like a bizarre episode of the Twilight Zone, the American public is being hoodwinked by the major media news outlets that are propagandists for the nuclear weapons industry because the news media is not asking the Trump Administration if denuclearization should occur in the Unites States of America.

The latest $2.5 billion contract involving the ‘madness of nuclear weapons’ that is being awarded by the Department of Energy’s (DOE), National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA), directly involves the Regents of the University of California. It is immoral for the Regents to be involved in activities that may lead to the deaths of millions of people, and UC Berkeley has long been involved in the research of nuclear weapons since President Franklin D. Roosevelt was in office.

National Nuclear Security Administration Announcement:

As recent as last Friday, it was announced by the Department of Energy’s (DOE), National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA) that NNSA awarded a $2.5 billion contract to Triad National Security, LLC, the management and operating (M&O) contract for the Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL) in Los Alamos, New Mexico. Among other things, the Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL), designs nuclear weapons for the United States.
 
According to NNSA, Triad National Security, LLC, is a limited liability company, which consists of Battelle Memorial Institute (Triad & Battelle are located at same address), the Regents of the University of California, and the Regents of Texas A&M University.  Fluor Federal Services, Huntington Ingalls Industries/Stoller Newport News, Longenecker & Associates, TechSource, Strategic Management Solutions and Merrick & Company will support Triad National Security, LLC, in the performance of this contract.”

Battelle Memorial Institute is a so-called nonprofit organization, with gross receipts of $5,241,590,574 during 2016.

“For 75 years, Los Alamos National Laboratory has been at the forefront of scientific and technological innovation to enhance our national security,” said Lisa E. Gordon-Hagerty,Under Secretary for Nuclear Security and NNSA Administrator. “The lab will continue to be a critical resource to ensure the future safety and security of the United States as we begin work on new endeavors, like the effort to recapitalize our plutonium pit mission. I’m confident that Los Alamos’ world-class workforce will continue to answer the Nation’s call under the direction of NNSA’s new M&O partner, Triad National Security, LLC."

The new contractor hired to run Los Alamos National Laboratory is basically the same manager that was fired for past safety problems. Despite the reported safety lapses repeatedly occurring regarding safety problems at the Los Alamos National Laboratory in New Mexico, the $2.5 billion contract has been awarded by the National Nuclear Security Administration’s (NNSA), for it’s plutonium pit mission, at the Los Alamos National Laboratory. The triggers at the heart of modern thermonuclear weapons, are called plutonium pits.

According to Wikipedia, as of 2017 the United States had 4,018 nuclear weapons in either storage or deployment, and is the only country to use nuclear weapons during war against another country including the cities of Hiroshima and Nagasaki of Japan, in August of 1945.

Among the nations that have nuclear weapons, other estimates believe that the United States has around 6,550 nuclear weapons in it’s stockpile.
