June 5th Cal Primary: Two Greens Made Top Two for 11/18 Elections

It finally happened. The Green Party of California has made the Top Two for November 2018 in US Congressional Districts 34 and 40. In District 34, Kenneth Mejia will run against incumbent Democrat Jimmy Gomez (43) who has only been in office for 1 year. In District 40, Rodolfo Cortes Barragan will run against incumbent Democrat Lucille Roybal-Allard (76), who has been in Congress since 1993 (13 terms), but only 5 years in this new district. Both districts are in the Los Angeles area.
It finally happened. The Green Party of California has made the Top Two for November 2018 in US Congressional Districts 34 and 40. In District 34, Kenneth Mejia will run against incumbent Democrat Jimmy Gomez (43) who has only been in office for 1 year. District 34 is 65% Latino and comprises Central, East and Northeast Los Angeles, including the following: Boyle Heights, Chinatown, City Terrace, Cypress Park, Downtown Los Angeles, Eagle Rock, El Cereno, Garvanza, Glassell Park, Highland Park, Koreatown, Little Bangladesh, Little Tokyo, Lincoln Heights, Montecito Heights, Monterey Hills, Mount Washington, Westlake. District 40 is 86% Latino and comprises Downey and East Los Angeles, in particular Bell, Bell Gardens, Bellflower, Central Alameda, Commerce, Cudahy, Downey, East L.A., Florence, Florence-Graham, Historic South Central, Huntington Park, Maywood, Paramount, South Park, and Vernon.
