Kate Kennedy set the legal precedent for equal pay (women with men) in 1874. She was the first woman in California to run for public office (Supt. of Public Schools, 1886). She established civil service tenure in 1890. And she advocated for public ownership of land values.
Come along on a walking tour celebrating her life's work, even as it explores social movement history in San Francisco. Then, on Sunday, join a Kennedy Remembrance in Colma, https://irishcentersf.org/event/kate-kennedy-remembrance/
