Latinos in America
Latinos in America are given an image where they are portrayed as "bad" people in society. Immigrants come to America hoping to start a new life and reaching for the American Dream. Little do they know that they come to face discrimination not only in the real world, but also in the media.
Latinos In America
President Trump blocks the American Dream for immigrants. We can all recall the moments when President trump made a commitment to build a wall along the Mexican border to keep out “criminals and rapist”. That created a bad image within this community especially with the help of the media since it plays a big role in today's society. President Trump has also been trying to remove the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals that was put out back in August 2012 by the former president Barack Obama. DACA allows people who came into the U.S at a young age to be able to have a work permit and even attend college. As of September 2017, it was stated by the Citizens and Immigration Services that there was around 689,800 DACA recipients. The hispanic and latino community make up 16.7% of the population in the United States. With that being said, the hispanic community is the fastest growing population in America. California, Texas, and Florida have the highest hispanic population with a percent of 55. We can see that this certain community is being target for being in a place where they do not belong. But we are all immigrants so what is the difference in the Latino community coming into the U.S to have a better life. Latinos come here to build a better future for their children and have a decent income. It has also been stated that they come and “steal jobs”, but since some immigrants do not have a social security number, they take jobs that no other people desire to have. For example dishwashing, janitors, or even house cleaning are jobs that people tend not to want just because they are not office jobs.
Society needs to change their perspective in certain types of community. No one should be looked down upon on because they are a different race.
