Los Altos Voices for Peace present Dr. Sharat G. Lin on Prospects for Peace with North Korea.
North Korea is perhaps the single most demonized and least understood country on Earth. After 70 years of diplomatic isolation, relentless sanctions, and apparent threats of nuclear confrontation, what makes peace and reconciliation possible after a round of Olympic diplomacy?
Sharat G. Lin traveled to North Korea to see firsthand what the country is really like. He presents an eye-opening picture of a country few Americans have ever seen, and finds a viable road to peace with North Korea.
Dr. Lin is a research fellow and past president of the San Jose Peace and Justice Center. He received his Ph.D. in medical physics and nuclear medicine from U.C. Berkeley. He writes and lectures on global political economy, labor migration, social movements, and public health. He is also an educator, community organizer, inventor, photojournalist, artist, and peace dancer.
