Wikileaks published a cable sent by Charles Glazer in 2008, who at that time was the US ambassador to El Salvador. The cable said that the U.S. shouldn't worry: ARENA (El Salvador's far-right party) had a plan to use the Constitutional Chamber of the Supreme Court to undermine a possible presidential victory by the FMLN (El Salvador's Left party, formed as a guerrilla movement during the 1980-1992 Civil War).

Fast forward ten years: Elections in El Salvador are among the most complicated in the world, thanks to a series of rulings by the country's Constitutional Chamber of the Supreme Court, and the FMLN suffers a major electoral loss.

We invite you to join CISPistas recently back from accompanying the Salvadoran elections, who'll be sharing information about:
-Why the Left lost in the 2018 elections
-What's next for El Salvador's environmental and feminist movements
-What we can do to stop US-pushed privatization efforts

We will also be joined by a Honduras solidarity activist to hear about what's been going on since the fraudulent election last November.
We are 100% volunteer and depend on your participation to sustain our efforts!
