“I’m Turning Point USA’s Top Activist in the Country, & I Quit this Shitty Organization”

by Dr. Danny Weil, ESQ
“Last semester, Frankie told us we were not allowed to bring Kyle Chapman (the Based Stickman) to our campus since Turning Point wants to distance itself from the alt-right, despite him being a Constitutionalist Ron Paul supporter. Meanwhile, Frankie was liking tweets from notorious Charlottesville attendee and white nationalist icon, James Allsup”

On February 12, 2018, two days before the shooting in Florida, a Kent State student published a piece on Turning Point USA, the alt-right student group funded by billionaires, whereby she quits the group calling it a “shithole organization” with “increasing levels of drama” and “some of the most incompetent, lazy, and downright dishonest people I have ever encountered.”

Wow! You can find her resignation here: https://www.mmo-champion.com/threads/2376881-Turning-Point-USA-Chapter-At-Kent-State-Disbands-Because-of-Free-Speech-Debacle

Evidently, Kaitlin Bennett, formerly the president of Kent State University’s chapter of Turning Point USA, was upset that she was left alone to deal with the aftermath of a ‘safe space’ prank Turning Point USA took credit for.

Bennett was referring to the October 2017 rightwing-activism effort at Kent State University by the school’s Turning Point USA chapter. Student members protested safe spaces on campus; they donned adult diapers and plugged their mouth with pacifiers. One student, whose bare legs were exposed from his adult-diaper down, took small sips from a sippy cup as he posed for photos. In another photo, he sprawled out like a child on the ground, pacifier in mouth, while he drew in a coloring book (http://www.breitbart.com/tech/2017/10/19/turning-point-usa-activists-wear-diapers-to-protest-safe-space-culture/).

In her resignation this month, Bennett stated:

“I was embarrassed to have been left alone to deal with the aftermath of the safe space event, and even lied about by Turning Point national. You two approved the event but took zero responsibility to save face for yourselves. Not only did I invite you to attend our entire free speech week, but you even told me you would help me apply for a grant for the event. I was also made aware by other Turning Point chapters under your watch that you were fully aware that Young Americans for Liberty members were the ones who dressed up as children, and that instead of putting the blame where it belonged, you not only distanced yourself from the event, but you let my chapter face the consequences of online harassment. I am appalled that national headquarters lied about, and put one of their own chapters under the bus just so they wouldn’t upset another organization.

I have realized how much of a shithole organization Turning Point USA is, and am glad I got out of this bullshit before I invested my whole life into it, let alone just my senior year of college. Now that I have a clear conscience and have no desire to continue my employment with Turning Point, I will have the time to find a real job, something I recommend for you. Maybe answering to business professionals rather than college dropouts, egotistic enough to put their face on stupid memes, will give you the leadership skills you desperately need for your positions.”

Interesting: so according to Bennett it was the Young Americans for Liberty that actually occupied safe spaces on campus: not Turning Point USA as the press would have us believe.

What is more interesting from the perspective of those of us who have been studying and researching this group is that Bennett’s complaints revolve around Turning Point not helping her with receiving a grant, not supporting her chapter when it came under fire, not telling the public that Young Americans for Liberty were actually the group that occupied the ‘safe spaces’.
Young Americans for Liberty is Ron Paul’s group (https://yaliberty.org/about/), another favorite site for alt-right thinkers and white-supremacists. Nowhere did she complain of the virulent fascists that circle the organization or are actual members.

Bennett goes on to bemoan that:

“I am deeply saddened that Turning Point USA did not turn out to be the organization I thought it was, as it was once a dream of mine to work for you after college. In fact, Frankie told me back in August that he would help me attain employment after I graduate, and the same sentiments were shared with me at SAS by Emily Parry. This also turned out to be a lie, as Frankie’s position will no longer exist at the conclusion of the semester, and my current employment was nearly terminated due to further incompetence of the organization. Though Emily told me in December she would be calling me in May, she had the audacity to terminate my contract, before Alana did something useful for once and got me my job back for the semester”(https://www.mmo-champion.com/threads/2376881-Turning-Point-USA-Chapter-At-Kent-State-Disbands-Because-of-Free-Speech-Debacle).

You can read the entire diatribe. It revolves around a young student enticed by careerism with Turning Point USA and how her hopes and dreams of climbing the ladder to success was trampled.
What is of interest is not the weeping of a former Turning Point USA president over what she perceives as betrayal by the organization; Turning Point USA's selling point is that they promise career success if a student decides to join ‘the party’.

Bennett let go a gem when she penned the piece for Turning Point. Here is the following little item from her lengthy resignation letter that nails the case against Turning Point and their alt-right connections down:

“Last semester, Frankie told us we were not allowed to bring Kyle Chapman (the Based Stickman) to our campus since Turning Point wants to distance itself from the alt-right, despite him being a Constitutionalist Ron Paul supporter. Meanwhile, Frankie was liking tweets from notorious Charlottesville attendee and white nationalist icon, James Allsup” (http://libertyhangout.org/2018/02/im-turning-point-usas-top-activist-in-the-country-im-quitting-this-shitty-organization/).

‘Frankie’ is Frankie O’Laughlin, a former Turning Point higher up and Bennett’s former boss.

So Ms. Bennett was angry that Kyle Chapman, who she calls a Ron Paul supporter, was not invited to campus by Turning Point USA. Reason: Turning Point says it wants to distance itself from the ált right’. But does it?

WHO IS KYLE CHAPMAN

AKA The Stickman, Kyle Chapman, a California activist arrested in a clash in Berkeley between anti-fascist protesters and pro-Trump demonstrators last year, announced last year he was forming the Fraternal Order of Alt Knights (cleverly called “FOAK").

Chapman, who uses the Internet meme “Based Stick Man,” says his new militant, highly-masculine group will be the “tactical defensive arm” of the Proud Boys, another group that shows up at pro-Trump rallies looking to rumble with counter-protesters.

“We don’t fear the fight. We are the fight,” Chapman said in a recent social media post announcing FOAK’s formation.

“I’m proud to announce that my newly created Fraternal Order of Alt-Knights will be partnering with Proud Boys,” Chapman said, with the “full-approval” of its founder, Gavin McInnes.
McInnes is a co-founder of Vice (although he and the magazine severed ties 10 years ago) and more recently has been a frequent guest on FOX News and a contributor for the racist site VDARE where he denigrated Muslims and called Asian Americans “slopes” and “riceballs.”

Now described as a “neo-masculine reactionary,” McInnes calls his Proud Boys a “pro-West fraternal organization.”

Others describe it as the military arm of the Alt-Right (https://www.splcenter.org/hatewatch/2017/04/25/new-fight-club-ready-street-violence).

This is the guy who Bennett wanted to pay to speak at her campus, Kent State ironically, and she was mad when she was not allowed to invite him using the Turning Point USA name.

So let us be clear: Bennett’s stated claims for resigning from the ‘shithole organization’ all had to do with her own careerism, her employment, her grants and her profile. She had no problem with inviting a fascist to her campus; one who faces a felony charge of possession of a leaded cane for allegedly brandishing a leaded stick at a rally in Berkeley in March (https://www.sfgate.com/news/bayarea/article/Kyle-Chapman-Based-Stickman-Alt-Right-remanded-12448845.php).

No problem there.

But what about Turning Point USA distancing themselves as a group from alt-right fascists like Chapman, and then tweeting James Allsup? ‘Frankie’, evidently, according to Bennett, was in touch with James Allsup through tweets.

So who is James Allsup?

JAMES ALLSUP

Allsup is part of the alt-right forum that includes Julian Assange, Lucien Wintrich, Gavin McCinnes (Proud Boys), Ann Coulter, Matt Drudge, Roger Stone and a host of other right wing and alt-right figures (https://allrightforum.blogspot.com/2017/09/immigration-is-killing-america-james.html). He is also the founder of the now deceased online Zine, America First Media (https://angrywhitemen.org/category/people/james-allsup/).

He likes to write about white genocide, a topic close to fascists, immigration and how it is killing America. He is very prolific and you can read more of his rants at: (https://angrywhitemen.org/category/people/james-allsup/).

The former Washington State University College Republicans president, was one of the Freedom Rally attendees in Seattle, Washington on the 14th of February 2018. Allsup resigned from his presidential role at WSU after being identified at the Charlottesville’s KKK-and-Nazi-symbol-filled Unite the Right rally last year (http://www.seattleweekly.com/news/freedom-hate-and-a-campus-divided/).

He wasn’t alone in Seattle: The Proud Boys also attended the Freedom Rally held in Seattle this month. They were also present at the previous Patriot Prayer event held last year, joined by men in Kevlar with guns. The Cascade Legion was on hand too. The group calls Black Lives Matter and antifa “left-wing terrorist organizations” and declares “pussies need not apply” on its website (ibid).

Although the link appears to be down, I found this when trying to connect Allsup to Turning Point USA:

James ? Allsup. Bio Formerly verified, ... Twitter Web Client: Kassy Dillon Turning Point USA let me protect you and free markets against leftie fascists mommy uwu.

Turning Point USA quickly stated they have severed ties to Allsup.

He was not invited to the November 7, 2018 speech by Sebastian Gorka, held by Turning Point USA. Gorka has been accused of espousing Islamophobic ideas and having ties to a far-right, Nazi-linked group in Hungary.

Did anyone tell Frankie?

TURNING POINT USA IS A FASCIST ORGANIZATION

On February 12, 2018 the Kent State chapter of Turning Point USA went to the morgue (http://www.kentwired.com/latest_updates/article_150da234-1053-11e8-a675-0b661d4f9580.html).

The campus that was once known for the four killings of Kent State students during the height of the Vietnam war by National Guardsmen (https://archive.nytimes.com/http://www.nytimes.com/learning/general/onthisday/big/0504.html) , is now known as the campus that gave the bum’s rush to Turning Point USA.

As I have written and recently Truthout reported, Turning Point USA is a billionaire, astro-turf organization tied to fascists. Everywhere one looks one finds ált right’ fascists either as former members of the organization or current members (http://www.truth-out.org/news/item/43419-young-fascists-on-campus-turning-point-usa-and-its-far-right-connections).

The fascists, like the Florida shooter, like to call themselves Ídentitarians’.

Kaitlin Bennett left us a gem when she wrote her resignation letter. She confirmed that top level staff in Turning Point USA has or had relations with known fascists. The group can attempt to distance themselves from know2n alt right groups, but as my research and that of Dahn Shaulis clearly shows, Turning Point USA is little more than a fascist student group subsidized by billionaires.

The tragedy is that in their wake they will leave many students like Bennett behind. After all, dressed in diapers is not really a good item for the resume. And it is promises of careerism that bring people like Bennett into the fold.

That and a president of the United States who kept copies of Adolph Hitler’s speeches next to his bed (http://www.businessinsider.com/donald-trumps-ex-wife-once-said-he-kept-a-book-of-hitlers-speeches-by-his-bed-2015-8).

The above was an error and should have the date as November 7, 2017.
Late last year, TPUSA had a large conference in Florida that was met with some resistance. And TPUSA supporters showed their colors:

http://freebeacon.com/culture/protesters-clash-attendees-turning-point-usa-conference-commences/

"Elements of the TPUSA crowd yelled "fag" and waved a "Kekistan" flag, a symbol of the alt-right. Many wore pro-Trump paraphernalia, including "Make America Great Again" hats sold at the conference."
Charlie Kirk, president of Turning Point USA, has had a lot of denying to do this month.

On February 2nd, violence erupted on the Colorado State University campus, when a small group of white supremacists, the Traditionalist Worker Party, battled anti-fascists outside a Charlie Kirk speech.

Less than two weeks later, a mass shooting occurred at a high school in Parkland, Florida. The 19 year-old shooter was a member of a white supremacist group.
Instead of addressing the white supremacist violence or the need for gun control, Mr, Kirk defended the National Rifle Association, one of TPUSA's donors.

White supremacists follow Charlie Kirk and they support his cause as a more mainstream white supremacist and leader of Turning Point USA (TPUSA).
