Police Put Hood Over Homeless Person’s Head to Stop Free Speech

by Register Peace & Freedom or Green
At 2 p.m. on February 10, 2018 at Washington Square Park in San Francisco’s North Beach, 4 Democratic Party police, each paid $100,000 a year and up plus benefits, all heavily armed and very muscular, arrested a homeless white man and put a hood over his head after he had been exercising his free speech rights to say whatever came to his mind, as he sat among a group of apparently homeless people. He was not harming anyone but someone called the police. This horror show will produce no positive results since he will not receive any social services or permanent housing upon leaving jail in a few days.

The rest of the many people enjoying the unusually warm 65 degree dry weather at the park were likely voters, and certainly all taxpayers, receiving their object lesson on fascism right here at home, and why we cannot have guns and butter. The Democratic Party machine has been sitting at San Francisco City Hall since 1964, so the police operate according to the instructions of the Democratic Party. The police are not social workers; they are the armed thugs of the capitalist class who terrorize the workingclass. It is certainly something new for the local fascist police state to put a hood over anyone.

This action comes as the February 1, 2018 Street Sheet hits the streets with the headline “Architecture Designed to Keep Homeless People Away” by TJ Johnston, describing in words and pictures the many hateful things both private property owners and the City of San Francisco are doing to make it difficult for the homeless to sleep anywhere. The Democratic Party machine of San Francisco has put huge boulders at Cesar Chavez and Potrero to prevent homeless encampments at that spot. Meanwhile the shelter wait list is 1,066 people and there are at least 7,500 homeless people in San Francisco with at least 4,300 living on the sidewalks. There are at least 2,400 homeless school children in San Francisco. As to affordable housing, 6,000 affordable units were built in the past 10 years while 6,000 people were evicted. Meanwhile, there are 30,000 vacant apartments in San Francisco, mostly unoccupied condominiums that the owners do not need since their San Francisco home is their 2d, 3rd or more home. These units could be taken over by the City by right of eminent domain to immediately house the homeless. See https://www.indybay.org/newsitems/2017/12/18/18805353.php

The housing crisis is sure to get worse as the former lifelong Democrat who gave thousands of dollars to the Democratic Party and the Clinton Foundation, now Republican Trump is about to cut $6.8 billion from affordable housing programs, more fully described on page 3 of the 2/1/18 Street Sheet, distributed by homeless and other low income vendors for whatever you can donate.

Only Peace & Freedom Party and the Green Party are serious about housing the homeless and abolishing the police and warfare states. This year is the 2018 California Governor’s race where housing is sure to be an issue, and both parties need to run candidates to stay on the ballot.
