Feb 1st, Thurs. 7 p.m. Remembering Ursula K. Le Guin: evening of reading, viewing, listening
Join us, and bring a passage from Ursula K. Le Guin's work to share, listen to audio and video recordings of Le Guin, and discover more about her writings.
Ursula Kroeber Le Guin (10/21/29 - 1/22/18) was a prolific speculative fiction writer, essayist and poet. Thoughtful, and radical, her books explored different human possibilities and challenged the traditional (and oppressive) notions of gender, race, and human nature. In 2016, The New York Times described her as "America's greatest living science fiction writer."
"We live in capitalism, its power seems inescapable - but then, so did the divine right of kings. Any human power can be resisted and changed by human beings. Resistance and change often begin in art. Very often in our art, the art of words." -Ursula K. Le Guin
