In this time of anti-Muslim propaganda, this is a good time to learn more about Islam and Middle Eastern culture. Join us for our Sunday service where our guest speaker will be Shaykh Yassir Chadly, a professor of Islamic studies who served as the imam (spiritual leader) of a Sufi mosque in Oakland. His talk, “Surfing the Waves to the Divine” will discuss the Muslim practice of Sufism. We will also hear Middle Eastern music performed by Issa Nessim (vocals) and Gary Haggerty (oud). The Berkeley Fellowship of Unitarian Universalists (BFUU) welcomes people of all religions, as well as the non-religious seeking to nurture spirituality.
