Paradise Papers exposes Trump-Russia links

According to the International Consortium of Investigative Journalists, “One offshore web leads to Trump’s commerce secretary, private equity tycoon Wilbur Ross, who has a stake in a shipping company that has received more than $68 million in revenue since 2014 from a Russian energy company co-owned by the son-in-law of Russian President Vladimir Putin.

A released leaked trove of 13.4 million records (dubbed the Paradise Papers) reveals that the Trump regime’s billionaire Secretary of the Department of Commerce, Wilbur L. Ross, has ties to Russia.

The Paradise Papers reveals the financial hideaways of many power brokers, the wealthy, and iconic brands.

According to NPR, Wilbur Ross is a donor and longtime associate of Donald Trump who helped Trump’s bankrupt casino company in the 1990s.

The Paradise Papers is a leak of documents from the Appleby law firm, which also exposed the ties of Wilbur Ross to Russia.

The International Consortium of Investigative Journalists reports that the Appleby law firm was set up as a company in 1898.

Appleby responded to media reports about the leak, including the millions of offshore financial documents that were leaked to the media. Some of the documents are presumed to be from Appleby in a different link.

The Wilbur L. Ross public disclosure financial statement is huge, and reveals that he has been a very wealthy busy fellow through the years.

However, a report about the Paradise Papers reveals that Wilbur L. Ross, “Owns a stake through offshore entities in Navigator Holdings, a shipping firm that receives millions of dollars from a company owned by Vladimir Putin’s close allies. And that relationship poses potential conflicts of interest for Ross, who plays a major role in U.S. economic relationships with other countries, including Russia. Additionally, Ross’ continuing Navigator investment was so indirectly disclosed that Senators who voted on his confirmation didn’t know about it.”

According to a detailed report from NBC news, Wilbur Ross hid his ties to Putin cronies.

Wilbur Ross is affiliated with the Republican Party, and is registered to vote in Palm Beach, County, Florida.

As the 39th Secretary of Commerce, Wilbur L. Ross of Palm Beach, Florida, and South Hampton, New York, was sworn in to office on February 28, 2017, by Vice President Mike Pence.

Reportedly, the offshore ties of more than a dozen Trump advisers, Cabinet members and major donors appear in the leaked data (Paradise Papers),” including Sheldon G. Adelson (Donor), Randal Quarrels (Trump Admin), The Koch Brothers (Donors), Thomas J. Barrack Jr. (Advisor), Stephen Schwarzman (Advisor), Carl Ichan (Advisor), Rex Tillerson (Trump Admin), Robert Mercer (Donor), Wilbur Ross (Trump Admin), Steve Wynn (Donor), Gary Cohn (Donor), Paul E. Singer (Advisor), and Geoffrey Palmer (Donor).
