This morning police rousted the people at the Santa Cruz Post Office Hooverville and ordered to vacate.
"Hooverville" was a shanty town built during the Great Depression by the homeless in the United States of America. They were named after Herbert Hoover, who was President of the United States of America during the onset of the Depression and was widely blamed for it
Bonnie reported that police ordered everyone to vacate. They named four parks that people could go: San Lorenzo Park, Laurel Park, and two others.
The San Lorenzo Park Benchlands are currently posted with a Notice to Vacate. The San Lorenzo Park Benchlands are currently occupied by a Hooverville consisting of about two dozen tents.
