Dear Supporter,

With new regulations in the offing we have finally come down to the wire. We must finally acquire the City and the County of Santa Cruz to provide us the licensing that will legitimize our appeal to the State of California for state qualification. As you can imagine it is a great deal of red tape. But most importantly, Wo/Men's Alliance for Medical Marijuana (WAMM) has been the forerunner in the process to make cannabis legal, instrumental in Proposition 215 and SB420, more than two decades ago.

We look forward to continuing WAMM’s nationally recognized service to our community. With the coming of new California state regulations our present location must be licensed. We trust that with community support we’ll be able to maintain our leadership in providing exemplary patient services. But we need your help.

We hope that you will support our continued presence on the Westside and at the Viking Hall where we have resided for 16 and 19 years respectively. If you don’t know some of our long history, allow me tell you a little bit about our work. WAMM is a not-for-profit patient service organization, not a cannabis dispensary. We are the longest running medical cannabis collective in the nation, helping those who legally use it as part of their healing process, and even as they face end of life. What distinguishes WAMM is that we provide low cost, donation based cannabis phytotherapies as an adjunct and at no cost to financially compromised members. This is one of several reasons that Federal Court Judge Jeremy Fogel described WAMM as “the gold standard of the medical marijuana movement.” From the day of our inception, through challenge and triumph, we have never lost sight of our purpose, to serve.

Please see our letter of support waiting for your or feel free to write your own in support of our services both to the community at large, to financially the compromised, seriously ill members of our community and to those who are facing death.

Your support means everything. After 25 years in the community, we are still without a license from the City or the County. If WAMM has helped you personally, tell your story.

Nothing can be more powerful. Thank you for taking the time to support WAMM, the longest continually running Medial Cannabis Collective in the nation.

Kindly,

Valerie Corral

Dear Board Members;

Please accept this letter of support for the Wo/Men’s Alliance for Medical Marijuana, WAMM. The presence of this unique collective and its relationship to our community is unparalleled.

Without WAMM’s presence in our community the face of cannabis would reflect only an economy of health for those who can afford to pay the high prices associated with “legal access.”

WAMM is the perfect display of the values of our community and the kind of compassion that spells Santa Cruz mercy. Please add my name to the countless members nationwide that value WAMM’s profound impact on the relief suffering, for the seriously ill, the financially compromised and for the dying. You can help them help our community. It is an act of human kindness.

Respectively,

Hello Neighbor;

I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself and to tell you about WAMM, the Wo/Men’s Alliance for Medical Marijuana. My name is Valerie Corral. For much of my life I suffered from epilepsy. After learning that cannabis could relieve my epileptic seizures, I founded WAMM with my then-husband Mike, to help others confronted by illness. That was in 1993. I couldn’t know then that it would set in motion a lifetime mission.

For the past 16 years WAMM has quietly conducted our service, outreach and education to seriously and terminally ill members of our community right here on the Westside.

Many of you know us and have joined in neighborhood projects, like park and area clean up, monitoring the railroad tracks, and working to maintain the tenor of our unrivaled Westside neighborhood. But for those of you who don’t, allow me tell you a little bit about our work. This is one of several reasons that Federal Court Judge Jeremy Fogel described WAMM as "the gold standard of the medical marijuana movement."

From the day of our inception, through challenge and triumph, we have never lost sight of our purpose.

We look forward to continuing WAMM’s nationally recognized service to our community. With the coming of new California state regulations our present location must be licensed. We trust that with community support we’ll be able to maintain our leadership in providing exemplary patient services.

We hope that you will support our continued presence here. Please feel free to call us at the number provided below, and--if you'd like—we would be happy to invite you make an appointment to drop by to meet us.

Please see our letter of support waiting for your signature so that we can continue our decades long community service. Thank you for taking the time to get to know us.

Kindly,
Valerie Corral
