Save City College General Assembly

Discussion and strategy planning to oppose building 1100 units of predominantly luxury condos on the Balboa Reservoir, currently used for parking at Ocean Campus and to support the prompt construction of the long planned Performing Arts Education Center.

Many faculty, students and community members are concerned that this mostly luxury housing development would privatize a large parcel of irreplaceable public land, deepening the gentrification of San Francisco. It would also compromise transportation options for students, creating a new barrier to rebuilding enrollment; make the lives of part-time faculty even more difficult; and aggravate traffic congestion.
