Let your child’s creativity shine with this hands-on exploratory workshop, where kids can imagine and build their own Extraordinary Playscapes!
Only one in four adolescents get the recommended 60 minutes of physical activity or active play per day – and the numbers for younger kids are only a slim improvement. Kids are frequently spending six to eight hours a day in front of screens, which often means that playing outside falls off to the wayside. We need innovative solutions that promote more creative and physical play – that’s where the Kids Design Workshop comes in!

Join us for a workshop showcasing our Extraordinary Playscapes exhibition. The day will include plenty of outdoor play, and a group building exercise in the Joe DiMaggio Playground Clubhouse. In this two-hour hands-on workshop, families will be introduced to architecture and design through building exercises where children will be allowed to let their imaginations run wild, and create their own custom playscapes!

This event is proudly presented in partnership with San Francisco Recreation & Parks Department, SF Parks Alliance, San Francisco Public Library, Playworld, NEA Artworks, Sappi, and Whole Foods.

Workshop begins at 10:30am. Tickets are $10 per child, adults with children are free. Snacks and beverages will be provided.

They're children, not kids. 'Kids' tells them they're happy-go-lucky!! 'ray!!! devil-may-care!!, kick-up-your-heels! But that's not who they are. They're just people, like you and me. ...needing respect as do you and I. Not being categorized as who they're not. Kids are those people acting manic over one or another role - look-a-me - put me on tv put me on tv , I can be crazier , - and then there are the children who have a better-reasoned control who don't act like that - and are marginalized....
Children.
We cradle children.
kids - not so much.
We are 100% volunteer and depend on your participation to sustain our efforts!
