The social fabric of America is stretched, torn, and fraying. Big time. Over climate change, health care, military funding, corporate interests, energy provision. For delusional folk, the America of 150 years ago when there was little government social welfare intervention was the golden era, despite then bitter poverty and unchecked private ownership of natural resources. On the other hand, those calling for a Bernie Sanders-like social agenda are bucking 45% of the nation which abhors government intervention that does save many from abject poverty but does establish a culture of entitlement and dependency, too.

Come along on a walking tour surveying San Francisco social movement history which also proposes a "third way" paradigm. One massive government intervention: Socializing land values (not land ownership) that takes away all private income derived from mere ownership of pieces of the earth, but pretty much says, "Apart from public allocation of that land value revenue, government need not intrude upon private affairs." Huge revenue from locational values, but an end to the income tax on labor and industry, an end to the regressive sales tax, and an end to payroll taxes.

The walk is free, but it may cost you many of your dearly held suppositions.
