Reuse Water with Graywater!
The rain is a welcome respite this winter, but California remains a drought-prone state. Graywater is a low-cost, simple way to make your home resilient in our changing climate. The water that flows from your sinks, shower, and washing machine can be diverted to irrigate your yard. Come learn about common and popular graywater systems and how to choose a system that is a good match for your home and landscape. This class will cover: Overview of water supply system Common types of systems and parts needed Plant-friendly soaps and products General costs & water-saving potential Ways to reuse graywater (covers plumbing code) Design considerations Graywater resources Register online to guarantee a spot. This graywater event series is a collaboration between EBMUD, Ecology Center, and Greywater Action. Class attendees may also wish to participate in a hands-on residential graywater installation, scheduled 3/18/17 — visit EcoCalendar for separate listing and registration.
