"In the Name of Humanity We REFUSE to Accept a Fascist America"
7pm Friday December 2
In the last week, we've seen Trump appoint his fascist team: Chief Strategist Steve Bannon, who was the owner and hands-on force behind the website Breitbart News Network. After 9 people were killed in So. Carolina by a white racist in 2015, Breitbart ran an article headlined, "Hoist It High And Proud: The Confederate Flag Proclaims A Glorious Heritage."
Lt. General Mike Flynn, National Security Adviser, claims the U.S. is in a global war, not just against Islamic jihadists but against Islam itself, which he 's called a "cancer" and said "fear of Muslims is rational."
CIA Pick: Mike Pompeo wants to expand the government's ability to spy on millions. He advocates legalizing and carrying out torture and champions gutting fundamental civil rights.
Trump Installs His Fascist Team
Trump's election means the demonization and oppression of Black people, immigrants, Muslims, and women in this society. Since the election, all kinds of attacks have been unleashed: Women wearing hijabs have had them ripped off, Latinos have been yelled at to go back to Mexico, two Black men were killed in hate crimes.
At the same time, tens of thousands of people, with a large number of high school and college students, have taken to the streets, opposing Trump and his regime. This is very positive and needs to spread further.
Protests Continue Against the Election of Fascist Trump
This statement that "In the Name of Humanity, We REFUSE to Accept a Fascist America" has begun to get out in all corners of society, but it needs to be spread much further.
This discussion will be part of continuing to sharpen up and deepen our understanding. We face an urgent and rapidly developing situation. Come to the bookstore, wrangle with what is going on, what we've done and what we need to do to stop this.
