Gulnara Karimova is hiding inside the U.S. Embassy?

Quite a lot of hardly probable stories about the fate of the late President of Uzbekistan's elder daughter have gone viral recently, however the most likely explanation is that she is secretly staying in the U.S. Embassy in Tashkent. It is common knowledge that Karimova has been in close contact with Ambassador Spratlen on various issues for quite a while. During the long-lasting illness of her father, the 'crown princess' attempted to engage all of her connections in the United States so as to secure the transition of authority in Uzbekistan that would be acceptable for the Karimovs clan.

The plans seem to have failed. There is no one to protect Mrs. Karimova now from the army of those who had been 'offended and deprived' during the previous years. Except, of course the United States which believes, it always pays to have a powerful player on the regional political battleground. Staying inside the embassy makes Karimova invulnerable both for personal vengeance and legal prosecution by the state. While if there are violations, disputes about results, and mass civil protests during the forthcoming presidential election in Uzbekistan, the key player may well be brought back to the game at some favorable time, as has been done over and over again during multiple color revolutions...
