Dennis Banks visit to The Salinas National Wildlife Refuge 10-3-2016

I am so honored to be apart of this beautiful day and being in the presence of Dennis Banks and all these wonderful brothers and sisters who came in support of Yes on Measure Z to ban fracking in Monterey County! A day in prayer for our earth mother and for the halting of our waters being polluted along with our air. Dennis Banks arrived and the AIM song was sung along with the drum!Soon there after Dennis spoke regarding his recent walk against domestic violence, he spoke of his health and the importance of saving our water and banning fracking! He is in support of "Yes on measure Z!" Dennis Banks also prayed for all at Standing Rock! He spoke of his forthcoming meeting with Jerry Brown on Tuesday 10-4-2016 "Bennis Banks was given amnesty in California by then Governor Jerry Brown, who refused to extradite him to South Dakota to face the charges related to activities in the 1973 Custer protest". Some other speakers also spoke on behalf of measure Z
We all shared in a walk to the ocean, stopping from time to time to pray! It was a long walk and, many of us walked more, and further, than we had in years! Many, including myself stopped to catch our breath and on ocation fell behind of the group as we all walked toward the beach.
Dennis and I shared several conversations, as we walked the trail toward the ocean, regarding mutual friends and other situations that need to protected!
Later, we stood in a large circle at the oceans edge a smaller circle was formed with just a hand full of folks, maybe a half dozen or so and we shared the ceremonial pipe (Peace Pipe)!
In all it was an honor to be in the company of Dennis and so many wonderful people!
I am very thankful for it all, and thankful for Denis to be a part of this magnificent event!
