The BIG Lie-KPFA Manager Threatens "Shutdown" Or "Part time" Station

by Stop The Lies
The manager of KPFA Quincy McCoy is threatening to shut the station or turn it into a part time station because they are not raising enough funding for the paid staff. This threat to shutdown the station or turn it into a part time station is a scare tactic to frighten the listeners and supporters.

KPFA manager Quincy McCoy is threatening the staff and listeners that he will shut down the station or make it a part time station if not enough funds are raised. This scare tactic is based on his position that the paid staff will not be cut and the only solution is to shutdown the station if not enough funds are raised.
The facts are that if not enough funds are raised to pay the staff they have to be laid off and replaced with the volunteer staff which already does 70% of the programming. There is no need to close the station or make it a part time station as McCoy is threatening. Jones who promised when he was hired that he would be raising money outside the fund drive has totally failed with his promises to the station and listeners and is now trying to threaten the staff and listeners.
KPFA listeners and supporters need to demand why McCoy has not been able to do a financial audit for KPFA which is the responsibility of management for the last two years yet is blaming the listeners? McCoy and his supporters in "Save KPFA" have been in charge of the national board and have been responsible for the failure to get a financial audit preventing Pacifica from getting millions in CPB funding. His team has been in charge and now pretends that this failure to have financial reports has nothing to do with him and his own responsibilities.
They also need to ask about why he can't make a report to listeners in person and take calls from the supporters and listeners of KPFA as other station managers have done. Apparently he thinks he has no personal responsibility for the mess he has helped create?
by KPFA Listener
These mendacious threats to close the station or turn it into a "part time" station are a form of extortion. If they want to explain the real threat to us, the listeners, then they should say, "We could become unable to fully support some of your favorite programming, Upfront, Letters and Politics, Against the Grain, and the Pacifica Evening News." I have no doubt that these are favorite programs to many listeners.
We are 100% volunteer and depend on your participation to sustain our efforts!
