Bay Area Public School (free university) Committee Meeting - Every Other Wednesday

Date:
Wednesday, August 31, 2016
Time:
7:30 PM - 9:30 PM
Event Type:
Meeting
Organizer/Author:
Jose
Location Details:
Omni Oakland Commons
4799 Shattuck Ave, Oakland, California 94609

The Bay Area Public School is a free, learner-directed, community-supported school, and a member of the Omni Oakland Commons. We exist to encourage and provide space for collaborative learning. Our educational model is centered on the formation of autonomous and interlocking communities of learning that engage in study, research, and creative inquiry. In our organization, our pedagogy, and our content, we strive to be radically responsive to our sjuation in a world dominated by systems of oppression and exploitation.

We are not an accredited institution: there are no grades, no certificates, and no degrees granted.
Anyone* can learn with us and anyone can organize a class. You are welcome to join us at any time.

The BAPS Committee is the collective in charge of organizing and coordinating BAPS classes, seminars, etc. It is the interface between what BAPS is facilitating and the Omni as an entity, and collective of collectives.

We meet every other Wednesday, at 7:30, at the Omni, in the Blue Room.

Anyone who wants to start a class, learn more about the school, or who has a stake in this project, or who wants to get involved is highly encouraged to join. All organizers, participants, financial supporters, and intrigued bystanders are welcome.
