A mysterious failed coup in Turkey neither promised nor brought democracy to a country suffering under fascism. Is the coup the latest element of an on-going power struggle among Recep Tayyip Erdogan, Fethullah Gülen, and the Turkish army? What is the role of the Kurds in this competition, in the Turkish left, and in the battle against ISIS?
Mehmet Bayram is a writer/translator who works with Sendika.org, a site involved in people's movements to fight fascism and support struggles for justice, real democracy, human and workers rights in Turkey. All are welcome Suggested donation: $5-10 (no one turned away)
