Trump has made his fortune on the strength of low taxes on land values. He's a second or third-rate business man with money to burn that comes from land value rents.

When land values are collected for public purposes, Trumpism fails. However, far too many well-intentioned social justice advocates, much less the typical voter, don't push for socializing land values via a modified property tax. Instead, Trump is denounced, rich people are excoriated, business-incentives are emasculated, sales taxes are resorted to, building developers are lambasted, poor-me-ism burgeons, piddly renter rights legislation gets promoted, and on and on. Meanwhile, the spirit and effect of Trumpism sails on.

Trumpism? It's simply the normative expectation that private parties deserve a good deal of, if not a whalloping amount of, the value of location. Low property taxes are the mechanism of Trumpism. And, remarkably, most of the liberal and moderate Democrats who wouldn't consider voting for Trump are, nonetheless, practitioners or would-be practitioners of Trumpism!
