This is the warm-up to what will be a fine program about SF's Beaux-Arts Civic Center architecture in Koret Auditorium, downstairs in the library.
The question Dub Nation asks is "Nice buildings for whom?" Civic Center is a cauldron of politics, a field of open space most of the time for everyone, and a beautiful assemblage of buildings. He'll be asking passers-by, "Where should the value of geography go? To the private interests owning much of place, or to society for social purposes?"
