Cherri is most well known for her walk from the Distal bayous of Louisiana to Washington DC during the BP oil spill to call for clean up and attention to the health of Clean up workers.

Cherri first describes her arrest on July 10th in detail. Like other journalists on scene, she was detained while on private property, while backing up as ordered, while documenting the police action. She describes being targeted for arrest by a particular officer, who was reported pointing an assault rifle at demonstrators the night before, and covering her nametag.
