Community pep rally to save 450,000 SF Bay Area trees (!) — and keep 2,000 acres of public land free of over 2,000 gallons of Monsanto Roundup™ and Dow Garlon™.

Gather with citizens who believe our forests are precious resources which shouldn’t be cut down and then sprayed with carcinogenic herbicides — which are increasingly considered “tools in the toolbox” by agencies including, tragically, The Bay Area chapter of The Sierra Club leadership (despite member disapproval).

Come learn more — if you want to protect and continue enjoying the 120-year-old forests in the East Bay hills, and preserve them for your children, and their children, and wild animals, too.

UC Berkeley thinks it's above the law. It's not. This August, The University will again try to ignore California laws and cut down tens of thousands more healthy trees, then spray the stumps and other plants with Dow Garlon™ and Monsanto Roundup™ in a 10-year-long "treatment" plan.
Join the Bay Area community protecting our forests and keeping thousands of gallons of toxic herbicides out of public lands, waterways, foxes, coyotes, rabbits, raptors, songbirds – and your children.
The Hills Conservation Network will show an 8 minute video that focuses on the beauty and value of trees vs the dangers of pesticides, and the drastic change in the landscape that will occur when the trees have been cut down. The Hills Conservation Network's goal is to stop the deforestation of the Berkeley/Oakland Hills. The Oak Tree Tree-sit was a Perfect example of that in lasting 648 days on Fraturnity Row while defeating the BP/UC Deal to cut down the Amazon Rainforest. I am organizng the Direct action Part. We do need resources to get Climbing Gear.
We are 100% volunteer and depend on your participation to sustain our efforts!
