Oakland landlords offer ghetto location rentals for Rolls-Royce prices

Oakland - The rush is on for newcomers moving to the friendly town of Oakland to rent an apartment in some ghetto locations, at Rolls-Royce prices.

Just imagine being displaced from San Francisco due to the extremely high rents and being hoodwinked by some greedy slumlord in Oakland to move into a one bedroom ghetto location rental for over $2,900 a month. This is the new norm in Oakland, as many new renters moving to town realize that it may have been a little bit safer renting an apartment somewhere else.

A new report from the National Low-Income Housing Coalition (NLIHC) called Out of Reach, reveals that Oakland renters are drowning from excessive high rents, and need to earn as much as $40.44 an hour to be able to rent a two bedroom apartment with 30% of their income.

It is hard to imagine people wanting to move to Oakland just so they can pay a fortune in rent to some slumlord in a ghetto location rental, but it appears that tenants are waiting in line to rent an apartment in the killing fields of West Oakland or East Oakland. Apparently, they are wiling to spend their hard earned cash for the privilege of renting from one of the local slumlords.

There is plenty to do for those newcomers to town who can not resist some of Oakland’s exciting moments. They can always check out a <a href="http://media.nbcbayarea.com/images/652*368/2015-05-31_12-21-53.jpg">side show for entertainment if interested. Or they may enjoy one of the local protests for an evening of fun and games with the Oakland cops. Or they may seek a little excitement and meet up with some of the locals hanging out on the streets.

Whatever the reasons are for so many people who are wanting to move to Oakland, the housing crisis has become so severe that the City is listed as #5 on the list of cities across the nation with the highest rents for one bedroom apartments.

Another recent survey also reveals that the fair market rents in Oakland have almost doubled since 2011. Additionally, in the top ten cities throughout the nation with the greatest rent increases during recent years, Oakland tops the list according to Smartasset.com, surpassing San Francisco, New York City, San Jose, Houston, New Orleans, Los Angeles, Denver, Colorado Springs, and Chicago.
