CLIMATE CHANGE WORKSHOP
Confused about global warming and why 2 degrees is such a big deal? Want to understand why we are having extreme cold when the planet is getting hotter? Do you know what unconventional fuels are? Or tar sands? Want to know about sustainable solutions that can remedy our climate crisis? If you want answers to these questions, come to our climate workshop, organized by the Education Committee of the Sunflower Alliance, on Sunday May 8 at 5 p.m. This workshop is designed to promote understanding of essential climate concepts in a way that is both interactive and supportive. Using large visual aids and small group discussion, our workshops encourage dialogue among the attending participants. What better way to spend Mother’s Day than talking with friends and fellow activists about how to ensure a future for all children. By understanding the urgency and depth of this crisis and by acting on this information in positive ways, we have a chance to do just that. Please join us for an exciting evening. Laurie Baumgarten, a retired Berkeley Unified School teacher and experienced climate educator, will facilitate this workshop. SPONSOR: Green Sundays are a series of free programs & discussions sponsored by the Green Party of Alameda County. They are held on the 2nd Sunday of each month.
