No Party Preference Voters Allowed To Participate In California Election Preliminaries

by D.T.
California has semi-closed preliminaries. Only Democratic and No Party Preference voters can vote for democratic candidates and only registered Republican voters can vote for republican candidates.
California has semi-closed primaries. No Party Preference (NPP) voters will be allowed to vote in California primaries.

Permanent vote-by-mail (absentee) NPP voters have received a non-partisan ballot to verify the ballot they wish to use for voting. If they missed to complete this form, they may download a non partisan ballot from their county elections offices. They may request one-time Democratic, Libertarian or Independent ballot. The request form must be received by May 23.

Provisional ballots also may be requested at the polling place.

This means that only Democratic and NPP voters will be allowed to vote for Democratic candidates.

If an NPP voter wants to vote for a presidential candidate in the Republican, Green, or Peace and Freedom party, the NPP voter must re-register to vote with one of those parties.

To check their registration status, voters can visit California Secretary of State website and click on their county election office link.
We are 100% volunteer and depend on your participation to sustain our efforts!
