Frameline -- Get Out of Bed with Israel

Date:
Thursday, April 21, 2016
Time:
6:00 PM - 7:30 PM
Event Type:
Protest
Organizer/Author:
Deeg
Location Details:
Roxie Theater, 3117 16th Street, San Francisco CA

In 2015, Outside the Frame Film Festival focused the LGBTQI communities on Frameline's continued partnership with the Israeli government. Over 800 people attended the 3-day festival that showcased films by filmmakers who refuse to participate in Frameline while it continues to support Israeli apartheid. Frameline finally responded by saying that they intend to continue to work with the Israeli government, despite the calls from Palestinian civil society for boycott, divestment and sanctions.

On Thursday, April 21, Frameline will sponsor an encore screening of Malachi Leopold's "Alex & Ali" at the Roxie Theater. We'll be outside beforehand to let them know that their disrespect for their community, for queer Palestinians and for justice won't fly. We are not protesting the film or its director, but we are protesting Frameline's support for apartheid and we hope you will join us.
