Stop The SF Police Murders - Community and Labor Rally For Alex Nieto
Supporters of justice for Alex Nieto and others who have been murdered by San Francisco police rallied and spoke at the San Francisco Federal Building on March 1, 2016 where a trial was to start on the case of the death of Alex Nieto
Community and labor activists rallied at the San Francisco Federal Building on March 1, 2016 to demand justice for Alex Nieto. Nieto was shot 47 times by the San Francisco police and Mayor Ed Lee and SF police chief Greg Suhr defended the murder. This was the start of a Federal trial against the City of San Francisco and the San Francisco police department.
Unions including SEIU 1021 and AFT 2121 supported the protest and trade unionists talked about the role of the San Francisco Police Officers Association which has defended racist police texts and also attacked Yolanda Williams who is president of the San Francisco Officers for Justice.
