February 2016: Old Capitol Books and the Direct Action Monterey Network are putting together a series of events for Black History Month in honor black and African history.

Screening of award winning documentary
Black Power Mixtape 1967-1975 (2011).
This beautiful documentary shot by a group of Swedish filmmakers chronicles the personal lives, struggles, and characters of the Black Power movement of the 60s and 70s.
Free and open to everyone.
We will be soliciting donations for the Monterey 8 - arrested at a protest for taking action against police brutality.
