No Justic No Peace! Labor Joins Rally At SF City Hall Protesting Execution Of Mario Woods

On December 24, 2015 community and labor activists rallied st SF City Hall to protest the execution of Bayview Hunters Point resident Mario Woods. Trade unionists demanded the prosecution of the policeman and also calls were made for labor action to stop the racist murders.
Trade unionists including from ILWU Local 10, SEIU 1021 and UESF joined a rally and press conference on December 24, 2015 for Mario Woods, an African American young worker who was executed by San Francisco police on December 3, 2015 in Bayview Hunters Point. San Francisco African Americans are being driven out of San Francisco through gentrification and displacement and some unionists are calling for labor action to stop these assaults. Participants including for ILWU Local 10 and SEIU 1021 demanded that the police be prosecuted for the murder and San Francisco police chief Greg Suhr be fired. They also went to the Mayor's office in city hall to demand a meeting and his action to remove Suhr. Mayor Ed Lee says the answers to these murders is to provide tasers to the police
Clarence Thomas of ILWU Local 10 also called for mass workers action to stop the epidemic of racist murders.
